Wie k\u00f6nnen wir trotz physischer Distanz feministische Raumpraktiken kollektiv erfahren?<\/p>\n
W\u00e4hrend eines Spaziergangs, der von binauralen Tonaufnahmen begleitet wird, begegnen wir einer Vielfalt weiblicher Perspektiven im Alltagsleben in der Stadt. Der Spaziergang ist eine Zusammenstellung von sehr unterschiedlichen Situationen an sehr unterschiedlichen Orten. W\u00e4hrend des ruhigen Spaziergangs durch die Stra\u00dfen von Linz erleben die Teilnehmerinnen emanzipatorische Praktiken und R\u00e4ume zusammen mit verschiedenen narrativen Charakteren, die sie durch die Stadt leiten. Erz\u00e4hlte R\u00e4ume und die physische Umgebung gehen ineinander \u00fcber. Was k\u00f6nnen wir voneinander lernen, unabh\u00e4ngig von der Entfernung, die uns trennt? Aufgezeichnete R\u00e4ume schwingen im realen Raum mit. Wie w\u00e4re das, wenn wir genau hier die gleichen Praktiken anwenden w\u00fcrden?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Die Audiowalks sammeln Perspektiven, die oft unsichtbar und unh\u00f6rbar sind und in der Stadtplanung nicht beachtet werden. Zu den behandelten Themen geh\u00f6ren der Zugang zu, oder der Ausschluss von R\u00e4umen, Erinnerungskultur im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum, autonome R\u00e4ume wie Wohnprojekte und st\u00e4dtische \u00d6konomien.<\/p>\n

Against the backdrop of a growing debate about gender we as emerging architects see ourselves obliged to contribute. Architecture is still male-dominated. Gender inequality – especially in higher positions – not just in architecture schools but in events, exhibitions, awards, is remarkable. We are fem_arc collective<\/strong>, a group of six women that have set out on collaboratively forming a practice, positioning ourselves in the broader field of architecture, or, more precisely, setting up a critical spatial practice. Our first enterprise was the F_TALKS lecture and conversation series in summer 2018.<\/p>\n None of us are fully trained architects in terms of the discipline’s regulations nor are we experienced feminists on a theoretical level. We are, however, very interested in the spatial politics of bodies. We find ourselves at a point where we deeply question the structural boundaries of the discipline historically set by men, and with this the educational concepts of architecture schools. Acknowledging the problematic state of contemporary architectural practice in terms of unquestioned gender identities and not quite diverse office structures, we want to employ the gender discourse, form alliances and aim at provoking an ongoing dialogue about the future of feminist practice in art and architecture.<\/p>\n There are many ways of spatial expression and we set out to find our own. However, for us architectural or spatial practice can also be the refusal of actually building physical structures.
