This workshop will explore the short film form, its particularities, obstacles and possibilities. We will go beyond the main categorization of fiction/documentary/experimental films.
Theory+Praxis. For us, a short film is a terrain of freedom and experimentation. We’ll screen and discuss certain contemporary short films and take them as starting points and inspiration for our own materials. The participants will be encouraged to make an own brief short film towards the end of the workshop.
The Workshop will develop 4 Axes:
* Politics of vision (films that deal with or portrait socio-political issues)
* The dreamed path (films as dreams, dreams as films)
* Expanded pupils (films that challenge perception)
* Foreign words/foreign bodies (filming identities)
